BENZOPHENONE 3

BENZOPHENONE 3 is a pale greenish yellow crystalline powder with a slight odor. It has an infrared absorption of less than 197K and retention time of the major peak of the sample solution corresponds to that of the standard solution. BENZOPHENONE 3 has an assay of 97.0-103.0% and congealing temperature of 62.0°C or higher. It has a specific extinction of 630 at 288nm and 410 at 325nm. BENZOPHENONE 3 is used as a UV absorber in topical products like moisturizers, shampoos, hair care products, lipstick, lip balms, nail polish, plastic materials, dental composite materials. It helps protect products from UV degradation and maintains the integrity of formulations. BENZOPHENONE 3 is also used as a color preserver in paints and varnishes.
