TEGO VARIPLUS AP

TEGO VariPlus AP is a ketone-aldehyde condensation resin that improves gloss and adhesion on various metals like steel and aluminium. As a solvent-free co-binder, it is recommended for high-solid industrial formulations and UV-offset inks. TEGO VariPlus AP provides excellent viscosity reduction and very good adhesion to metallic substrates. It has a glass transition temperature of around 50°C and helps reduce volume shrinkage in radiation curing systems. With a hydroxyl value of approximately 5 mg KOH/g, TEGO VariPlus AP effectively wets pigments and stabilizes dispersions. It dissolves in solvents like ethanol, acetone, butyl acetate and mineral spirits. TEGO VariPlus AP is suitable for waterborne and solventborne systems. Adding 5-20% of TEGO VariPlus AP to the total formula weight provides benefits like adhesion improvement on metals and plastics, hardness development, gloss enhancement and viscosity control for demanding high-performance coating applications.
