DESMODUR MT

DESMODUR MT is a polyisocyanate prepolymer based on diphenylmethane diisocyanate. It serves as a dewatering agent to ensure the storage stability of moisture-curing pigmented coatings. DESMODUR MT reacts with water to release carbon dioxide, preventing unwanted reactions and viscosity increase in coatings. The stoichiometric conversion of 1 g of water requires approx. 28 g of DESMODUR MT. Trials have shown that using two to three times this amount provides the best results for coatings. As a stabilizer, DESMODUR MT improves the storage life of pigmented moisture-curing coatings by reacting with trace water, keeping the coatings viscosity stable over time.
