DESMODUR I

DESMODUR I is a monomeric cycloaliphatic diisocyanate used in the manufacture of polyisocyanates and polyurethanes. It has the chemical name 3-Isocyanatomethyl-3,5,5-trimethylcyclohexylisocyanate or isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI). DESMODUR I offers properties like high reactivity, flexibility and resistance to degradation which are ideal for producing high-performance materials. Its low viscosity of approximately 10 mPa.s at 25°C and vapor pressure of 1.2 x 10-3 hPa at the same temperature make it well-suited for industrial coating, adhesive and sealing applications. DESMODUR I can be used to synthesize advanced polymers with tailored properties like strength, toughness and thermal stability thanks to its chemical structure and reactivity.
