DESMOLAC 2100

DESMOLAC 2100 is a non-reactive linear polyurethane binder based on MDI. It is used as a physically drying binder for primers in finishing applications. DESMOLAC 2100 has good solubility in ether esters such as methoxypropylacetate and ketones such as methyl ethyl ketone. It provides excellent pigment wetting and forms glossy and pleasant to handle coatings. The solvent resistance of coatings based on DESMOLAC 2100 can be greatly improved by the addition of a polyisocyanate, preferably Desmodur® N 75. This results in post-crosslinking of the film with atmospheric moisture after 1 - 2 weeks, providing durable protective films. DESMOLAC 2100 is suitable for applications requiring a binder that offers good adhesion, durability and weather resistance.
